Vietnam to build Southeast Asia’s first finance-banking-hotel complex

The Vietnam Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank) will begin construction of a USD400-million real estate complex in Hanoi on October 20.

The Vietnam Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank) will begin construction of a USD400-million real estate complex in Hanoi on October 20.

This will be the first finance-banking-hotel complex in Vietnam and the Southeast Asian region. It will also be the second highest building in Hanoi behind the Landmark Tower located on Pham Hung Street.

The project will cover 300,000 square metres in the Ciputra urban area in Tay Ho District and will have two towers. One, a 68-storey tower, will be used as the headquarters and offices of VietinBank while the other, a 48-storey tower, will accommodate a five-star hotel, health care centres, entertainment areas and restaurants.

The complex will also house trade centres, luxury offices for rent and many utility works.

Turner Construction Company controlled the complex design which was carried out by architectural firm Foster & Partners.

With the environmental-friendly design, the complex will be installed with energy-saving humidity-proof fans, aiming to save 30% of its energy usage.

Construction of the project is schedule for completion in 2014.
